Every action in the Marketing Feed can now be assigned, dated and tracked to the end, and a new activity log puts your campaigns and announcements on the report charts.

Actions now carry an owner, a due date and a history

Every monthly report from the Marketing Feed ends with three actions for the month ahead. From this week each action can be given an owner, a due date and notes in the app, and the next report opens with what happened to it. Nothing expires on its own, nothing is deleted, and the live list never grows past three.

An owner, a due date and notes on every action

Open the Overview tab of any brand in the Marketing Feed and the Actions section shows a count such as 3 of 3 live, 1 overdue. Each action lists what to do, the metric it should move and the month it was set for, with fields for Owner, Due date and Notes. Owner is free text: a name, a role or Me. Owners, admins and members can edit the fields and viewers can see them. A new action is due on the last day of the month it was set for, and the date can be changed at any time. Notes are for progress, blockers or anything else worth recording.

Nothing drops off on its own

Actions no longer retire on a timer. Once a due date passes, the action shows how many days it is overdue, moves to the top of the list, appears in an Overdue table in the monthly report and leads the Monday digest email. Extending the due date counts as a push, shown as Pushed 1x, Pushed 2x and so on. At 30 days overdue the app asks whether you still want it: keep it with a new date, mark it Done or mark it Not applicable. At 90 days overdue with no new date the action is parked. It leaves the live list, moves to History and frees its slot for the next report. A parked action can be reopened from History at any time.

Done, Not applicable and History

Done moves an action to History with an optional note on what was done, and the next report shows it beside what changed in the numbers. Not applicable also closes it, with a short reason, and tells the report not to suggest it or anything like it again. A store page when you do not sell online is the usual example. History groups every closed action by the month it was set for, with owner, due date, status and notes, and each one can be reopened. New actions only fill free slots. If all three are still open, the report says so rather than adding more.

An activity log for the things you did

The same release adds an activity log on every plan. Record a campaign, an announcement, an event or anything else with a title, a start date, an optional end date and the channels it ran on. Each entry gets a number, and an amber marker with that number sits under the month it ran on the 13-month charts for those channels. The monthly report gains a What happened this month section near the top, the quarterly strategy report lists the quarter's entries, and the written analysis can say a change coincided with something you logged. The report never claims an entry caused a result. It shows what was happening and leaves the reading to you. Earlier months can be backfilled and re-run to put them on the charts.

The Marketing Feed is $249, $499 or $999 a month and the first month is free. Read the Actions guide and the Activity log guide in the help centre, or see everything the feed watches.
