Getting started

Setting up takes a few minutes. Only connecting one channel is needed to start the feed.

You need to be an owner, admin or billing member of your organisation.

  1. Go to Marketing Feed in the top menu.
  2. Under Pick a plan, first month free, choose Monthly or Yearly (2 months free).
  3. Select Start free month on the plan you want.
  4. Enter your card at the secure card checkout. Nothing is charged until the free month ends.
  5. You’re brought back to Marketing Feed. Wait a few seconds while it shows Confirming your subscription. When it’s done you’ll see Subscription active.

You can also subscribe from the Organisation page, under Marketing Feed subscription.

You need to be an owner or admin.

  1. Go to Marketing Feed.
  2. Select Add your brand (or + Add a brand if you already have one).
  3. Fill in:
    • Brand name
    • What kind of business is it? Pick the closest category. It’s used for category benchmarks.
    • Website (optional, but it helps the app pick the right Search Console site and Plausible site for you)
  4. Select Create brand.

The brand page opens with a three-step checklist, Set up the feed for this brand.

This is the only step needed to start.

  1. In the checklist, open Connect a channel.
  2. Under Add a channel, select a tile, for example Google Analytics (+ Search Console).
  3. Sign in with the account that owns the data and approve access.
  4. Back in the app, pick the property, page or account to track for this brand and select Connect.

Each platform has its own guide. See Connecting channels.

Both are optional now and can be added later from the Setup tab.

  • Name your competitors / peers. Their ads, Instagram and reviews get watched next to yours. See Competitors / Peers.
  • Add the searches that matter. Professional and Strategic only. See Keywords.

Once a channel is connected, we pull the last 12 months of history for it.

  • While that runs, the brand shows Loading history and a banner reads, for example, “Loading history: 1 of 2 channels in.”
  • When the history is in, your first report generates on its own. It appears on the Overview and Reports tabs.
  • From then on, the monthly report lands on the 2nd of each month.

If you connect another channel later, the next report includes it.

Every brand shows a status on the Marketing Feed page and at the top of its brand page.

Status What it means What to do
Needs setup No channel is connected yet. Connect a channel.
Loading history Channels are connected and their last 12 months are still loading. Nothing. The first report generates once it finishes.
Live At least one channel has its history loaded. Reports, alerts and actions are running. Nothing.
Needs attention One or more channels have stopped working. Reconnect it. See Troubleshooting.

The strip at the top of a brand page also shows Channels, Competitors / Peers, Reports, Next report, Actions open, Last alert and your Plan.

Owners and admins can remove a brand. This disconnects every channel, stops reports and alerts, and frees the brand slot on your plan.

  1. Open the brand and go to the Setup tab.
  2. At the bottom, select Remove this brand.
  3. Select Yes, remove brand.
