Competitors / Peers

Competitors / peers are the businesses you compete with or compare yourself against. Their ads, Instagram and reviews get watched next to yours, and they appear in your monthly report and alerts.

Plan Competitors / Peers per brand
Essential 3
Professional 8
Strategic 15

Owners, admins and members can add and remove competitors / peers.

  1. Go to Marketing Intelligence > your brand > Setup > Watchlist > Competitors and peers and select + Add.
  2. Fill in:
    • Business name (required)
    • Instagram handle, without the @ (optional)
    • Website, for example example.com.au (optional)
  3. Select Add.

Add the Instagram handle and website wherever you can. Without them, there’s less to track.

Their numbers start to appear the day after you add them.

  1. Go to Setup > Watchlist > Competitors and peers.
  2. Select Remove next to the business.

To change a business’s details, remove it and add it again with the right details.

Depending on what you entered and your plan, the report compares you with each competitor / peer on:

  • the ads they’re running, including new ads this month
  • Instagram followers
  • Google rating and Google reviews
  • site speed (mobile)
  • new pages on their website this month
  • keyword rankings and share of voice (Professional and Strategic, see Keywords)
  • referring domains, backlinks and domain rank (Professional and Strategic, see Backlinks)
  • AI share of voice: how often AI assistants name them when buyers ask (Professional and Strategic, see AI search visibility)

A column only appears in the report’s table once there’s a figure for at least one business. For example, New pages this month shows after the second weekly check of a website, because the first check has nothing to compare with.

The report also sums up what the competition did and the one thing to take from it. On Professional and Strategic, it reads the ad creative in your market and suggests three creative tests to run.

You’re alerted when a competitor / peer:

  • starts running new ads (with links to view them)
  • stops running ads
  • has a jump in reviews
  • has a jump in followers
