Plausible Analytics

Connect Plausible to track your website’s visitors, pages and goals. You connect it with a Stats API key from your Plausible account.

Create a Stats API key in Plausible under Account settings > API keys.

The same key works for every brand. Each brand only reads the site you pick for it.

  1. Go to Marketing Intelligence > your brand > Setup > Sources > Channels.
  2. Under Add a channel > Website analytics, select Plausible Analytics.
  3. In Connect Plausible Analytics, under Where does your Plausible run?, choose where your Plausible is hosted. If it runs on your own server, enter Your Plausible address (for example https://analytics.yourdomain.com).
  4. Paste your Stats API key.
  5. Check Site domain in Plausible. It’s filled in from the brand’s website. It’s only used if your key can’t list your sites.
  6. Select Check key.
  7. Choose the Site for your brand.
  8. Select Connect.

Visitors, visits, visit duration and goals, for the whole site and split by channel (Organic Search, Direct, Referral, Paid Search, Email and so on), plus your top landing pages from search. See Website traffic.

Older self-hosted versions of Plausible don’t group visits into channels. For those, the report works out each visit’s channel from its source and utm_medium tag, using the same rules as Google Analytics. Plausible needs to be version 2.1 or later.

If a brand has both Google Analytics and Plausible connected, the report uses one of them, never a blend. Plausible is used by default.

  1. Go to Setup > Sources > Channels.
  2. Under the connected channels, next to Website analytics in the report, select Plausible or Google Analytics.

“Every site this key can see is already connected to” your brand. The site is already connected. Nothing more to do.
